- Enea S.A. is a Poland-based energy company engaged in the production, distribution, and trading of electricity. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Poznań, Poland, Enea operates across the entire electricity value chain, including generation from hard coal, wind farms, hydropower, photovoltaic (solar) farms, and biogas plants; electricity distribution through its subsidiary Enea Operator; wholesale and retail electricity trading; and coal mining through its subsidiary LW Bogdanka S.A. The company serves approximately 2.4 million customers including individual consumers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large industrial clients primarily in Poland. Enea also provides services related to construction, modernization, and maintenance of power grids and street lighting and is involved in IT and telecommunications services, including cybersecurity and telecom software solutions.
In recent years, Enea has significantly accelerated its expansion into renewable energy, acquiring multiple operational wind farms with a total capacity exceeding 199 MW, including six wind farms acquired in March 2025, and a 35 MW photovoltaic solar project near Konin, enhancing its green energy portfolio. The company plans to expand further with around 800 MW of renewable projects with construction permits targeted by 2024. Enea has formed strategic partnerships, including with PAD RES for photovoltaic developments, to advance its renewable generation capacity and support Poland's energy transition. Enea also actively engages in cybersecurity and network data management software for mobile networks, offering signaling, messaging, and voice firewall solutions designed to protect telecom networks. The company maintains a significant presence in the Polish market as the second-largest electricity producer and a major distributor. Enea is majority-owned by the Polish State and operates through a structure of numerous subsidiaries focused on power generation, distribution, trading, and mining.
