Business
Gulf Resources, Inc. manufactures and trades bromine and crude salt in the People's Republic of China through its subsidiaries. The company operates four principal segments: bromine production for use in manufacturing compounds serving pharmaceuticals, agriculture, water treatment, flame retardants, fumigants, dyes, medicines and disinfectants; crude salt extraction and sales; chemical products including agents for oil and gas field exploration, distribution, drilling, pesticides, paper manufacturing and antibiotics for human and animal use; and natural gas production and trading. It sells primarily to industrial customers in Shandong Province and maintains four operational factories with three additional facilities awaiting government approval. Gulf Resources, Inc., originally incorporated in Nevada in 1993 and headquartered at Level 11, Vegetable Building, Industrial Park of the East City, Shouguang City, Shandong Province, China, focuses on bromine-rich underground brine resources and integrated chemical and energy operations. In recent developments, the company completed the acquisition of five salt fields totaling 5,141,000 square meters for RMB 280,762,400 (approximately $39 million) in June 2024 through its subsidiary Shouguang Hengde Salt Industry Co. Ltd., with 80% paid in cash and 20% in stock, aiming to boost crude salt output and enable new bromine wells with expected cash returns in four to five years; management deferred chemical plant equipment deliveries to prioritize this expansion amid China's economic recovery.
