Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, the company maintains global operations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, with manufacturing facilities including sites in the United States and Mexico. In recent developments, Haemonetics announced in December 2024 a binding agreement to divest its Transfusion Medicine whole blood business—including blood collection, processing, filtration and transfusion solutions—to GVS S.p.A. for up to $67.1 million with closure expected in Q1 2025; the company completed acquisitions of Attune Medical in 2024 adding the ensoETM device, launched the TEG 6s Global Hemostasis-HN cartridge and earned CE Mark for SavvyWire in 2024, acquired OpSens Inc. in 2023 for guidewire technologies, and secured FDA clearances and international approvals for plasma and vascular products in 2023.
