The company holds a 33.37% stake in Hongkong Electric Company, which supplies electricity to Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island with a generating capacity exceeding 3,000 MW from gas-fired, coal/oil-fired, and renewable sources; a 40% interest in UK Power Networks, the largest electricity distributor in the United Kingdom serving over 8 million customers; stakes in SA Power Networks, Powercor Australia, CitiPower, and United Energy in Australia for electricity and gas distribution; Northern Gas Networks and Wales & West Utilities in the UK for gas distribution; Canadian Power Holdings Inc. and Husky Midstream Limited Partnership in Canada; Ratchaburi Power Company Limited in Thailand; Jinwan Power Plant, Dali and Laoting Wind Farms in Mainland China; Wellington Electricity in New Zealand; and Dutch Enviro Energy in the Netherlands, collectively operating 11,784 MW of power plants, 388,200 km of power networks, and 114,900 km of gas/oil pipelines serving approximately 19.8 million customers across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, Mainland China, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. In 2024, Power Assets Holdings Limited deepened these partnerships through acquisitions including a 20% stake in Phoenix Energy, the largest natural gas distributor in Northern Ireland, and UK Renewables Energy comprising 32 wind farms across England, Scotland, and Wales; UK Power Networks also acquired Powerlink Renewable Assets with 70 UK renewable generation sites; meanwhile, Hongkong Electric commissioned a new 380-MW gas-fired unit (L12), retired additional coal units toward a 2035 phase-out, and achieved over 99.9999% supply reliability.
