Business
Leader Education Limited (1449.HK) is an investment holding company principally engaged in the provision of private higher and vocational education services in the People's Republic of China. The company operates through its key subsidiaries and schools, including Heilongjiang College of Business and Technology in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, which offers undergraduate majors in engineering, management, economics, literature, arts, railways, business, and applied sciences; Quanren School in Baodi District, Tianjin; and Junhua Secondary Vocational School in Hai'an City, Jiangsu Province, providing vocational training programs. It also delivers technical consultancy, education management, enterprise business services, management consultancy, and artificial intelligence-related services. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, the company primarily serves students in northern and eastern China, with approximately 745 employees and a student enrollment supported by its institutions' quotas. In recent developments, Leader Education has pursued multiple finance lease arrangements to fund campus expansions and working capital needs, including major transactions with Jiangsu Jinzu Leasing (RMB30 million transfer for assets), Licheng Financing (RMB50 million), Shanghai Guojin (RMB50 million for air conditioners and generators), Guotai, and Haier, approved by controlling shareholders Shuren Education Limited and Junhua Education Limited without requiring general meetings. Controlling shareholders pledged approximately 74.50% of the company's issued share capital as collateral for a RMB350 million loan facility to support Heilongjiang College of Business and Technology's operations. The company developed the "Yun Shang Hei Gong Shang" core platform on Huawei Cloud WeLink from 2024 to September 2025, integrating digital education tools. Additionally, it changed auditors to BDO Limited in early 2025, appointed new Nomination Committee members, and issued profit guidance indicating a consolidated net loss of not more than RMB75 million for the year ended 31 August 2025, compared to a RMB20 million profit in 2024, due to higher income tax and administrative expenses.
