Business
PetroVietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 Joint Stock Company is an independent power producer primarily engaged in the generation, transmission, and wholesale distribution of thermal electricity in Vietnam. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, the company operates as a subsidiary of PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) within the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam). The company owns, manages, and operates the Nhon Trach 2 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant, which has an installed capacity of 750 megawatts and generates approximately 4.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually for off-take by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). The company offers a systematic range of products and technical services, including the commercial production and wholesale supply of grid-connected gas-fired thermal electricity; ancillary electrical system support and frequency stabilization services; wholesale distribution and trading of solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels; operation, overhaul, and preventative maintenance services for thermal power plants and associated infrastructure; technical consultancy, supervision, and engineering project management for power utility works; and industrial support solutions comprising waterway and road transport logistics, warehousing services, and industrial property leasing. In recent corporate and operational developments, the company entered into a major long-term service contract with a consortium of Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG and Siemens Energy Vietnam to provide comprehensive maintenance, technical inspections, and overhaul services across the plant's core equipment—including two gas turbines, one steam turbine, and three power generators—for the subsequent 100,000 equivalent operating hours across a 12-year operational framework. In addition, the company has implemented scheduled plant overhauls and efficiency upgrades while adapting its fuel supply coordination and dispatch bidding models to navigate domestic natural gas field allocations, integrate with the Vietnam Wholesale Electricity Market (VWEM), and align operations alongside next-generation liquefied natural gas developments in the Nhon Trach Power Centre.
