Business
Hub Group, Inc. (HUBG) provides transportation and logistics management services across North America as a leading supply chain solutions provider. The company offers intermodal transportation utilizing its asset-based operations and the industry's second-largest private intermodal fleet; truck brokerage connecting shippers with national and regional carriers for full truckload shipments; asset-based trucking including dedicated fleet management and 24/7 support; final mile services for last-mile delivery and installation, particularly in appliances and e-commerce; managed transportation solutions as a third-party logistics (3PL) provider with multimodal capabilities and technology platforms; temperature-controlled intermodal for food, beverage, and cold-chain cargo; international and cross-border services including expanded Mexico operations; less-than-truckload (LTL) brokerage; and reverse logistics through subsidiaries. Founded in 1971 as Hub City Terminals in Hinsdale, Illinois, and headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, Hub Group operates primarily in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, serving diverse industries such as durable goods, retail, food and beverage, and manufacturing with an asset-light model blending owned assets and brokerage networks. Hub Group recently completed the acquisition of specific assets from Marten Transport Intermodal on September 30, 2025, more than doubling its temperature-controlled container fleet to approximately 1,200 units and adding intermodal relationships in the food and beverage sector to enhance network capacity and profitability; it also acquired assets from SITH, LLC, a West Coast final mile provider, effective September 8, 2025, to grow final mile services; in 2024, the company formed a joint venture with EASO to expand intermodal and cross-border capabilities in Mexico. These strategic moves align with Hub Group's focus on core business investments, margin expansion, and service diversification amid ongoing operations that generated $934 million in third-quarter 2025 revenue. The company maintains subsidiaries including Hub Group Trucking, Hub Group Dedicated (formerly Estenson Logistics), CaseStack Retail Supplier Solutions, and others acquired historically such as Comtrak, Mode Transportation, Choptank, TAGG Logistics, and Forward Air Final Mile.
