Hutchison Port Holdings Trust (HPH Trust) is a Singapore-based business trust that invests in, develops, operates and manages deep-water container terminals and related port assets primarily in the Pearl River Delta region of South China, including Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. The Trust's core portfolio comprises Hongkong International Terminals (HIT), COSCO-HIT Terminals and Asia Container Terminals (ACT) in Hong Kong, which focus on transshipment cargoes leveraging the free port status; and Yantian International Container Terminals (YANTIAN) and Huizhou International Container Terminals (HICT) on the mainland, emphasizing origin and destination cargoes. It also provides complementary port ancillary services, including trucking, feedering, freight forwarding, supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, container storage and repair, as well as river port operations and multi-modal transport networks across road, rail, sea and air; these assets collectively operate 38 berths across more than 540 hectares, handling approximately 21.3 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) in 2023. HPH Trust was listed on the Singapore Exchange in March 2011, with headquarters in Singapore, and remains affiliated with Hutchison Ports, a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited. The Trust serves major shipping lines, exporters and importers in the global container trade, targeting transshipment and gateway traffic in the Greater Bay Area with a focus on efficiency and sustainability. Its operations span Hong Kong and Guangdong Province in China, supported by strategic integrations such as the Shenzhen-Hong Kong port cluster and green logistics initiatives. HPH Trust maintains no significant subsidiaries or parent company beyond its sponsor affiliation with Hutchison Ports, which operates a global network of 53 ports handling 87.5 million TEU in 2024. In recent developments, HPH Trust reported strong financial performance with a 25% year-on-year increase in net profit after tax to HK$1,022.9 million in Q1 2025, driven by robust throughput at YICT and EU export growth amid trade volatility. It issued US$500 million 5.00% guaranteed notes due 2030 in February 2025 to support refinancing needs, while facing HK$3.9 billion in maturities due in March 2025. Operationally, subsidiaries advanced sustainability efforts, including Hutchison Ports YANTIAN launching the world's first on-dock chassis battery swapping station for electric trucks in December 2024 and winning Best Container Terminal at the 2025 AFLAS Awards in September 2025; new rail-sea services debuted, such as the Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong route in June 2025 and its Chongqing counterpart marking its first anniversary in August 2025. Strategic moves included memoranda of cooperation with Port of Long Beach in September 2024 for green maritime initiatives and with Beibu Gulf Port Group in May 2024, alongside board changes such as CFO transitions and independent director appointments in February and November 2024.
