Business
PT Pelat Timah Nusantara Tbk (NIKL.JK), known as Latinusa, manufactures high-quality tinplate to international standards in Indonesia; it produces tinplate products in coil and sheet forms for packaging applications including food, beverage, and general line cans, leveraging Tin Mill Black Plate supplied primarily by Nippon Steel Corporation. Founded on August 19, 1982, and headquartered in Jakarta with a production facility in Cilegon, Banten, the company operates as Indonesia's first and only tinplate producer, serving domestic and export markets across Asia with an emphasis on premium segments through advanced technology and skilled workforce of approximately 225 employees. Majority ownership rests with a Japanese consortium comprising Nippon Steel Corporation, Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Nippon Steel Trading Corporation, and Metal One, following their acquisition of control in 2012 from prior Indonesian stakeholders including PT Krakatau Steel. In recent developments, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. purchased 252.33 million shares in September, enhancing consortium control, while the company reported a net profit of Rp356.7 million in Q3 2025 versus a prior-year loss, alongside sales of USD63.04 million for H1 2025 and targets for USD3 million profit in 2025 supported by 3.8% revenue growth projections and cost efficiencies amid import competition.
