InterRent Real Estate Investment Trust (IIPZF) is a growth-oriented, open-ended real estate investment trust that acquires, owns, manages and repositions income-producing multi-residential properties primarily in urban and suburban markets across Canada; its core offerings encompass mid-rise apartment buildings and townhouse complexes, generating revenue from tenant rents, parking, laundry and ancillary services, supported by in-house property management for leasing, maintenance, tenant relations and value-enhancing capital upgrades. The company, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, concentrates its diversified portfolio in key regions including Ontario (such as Ottawa-Gatineau, Greater Toronto Area, Kingston and London) and Quebec (notably Montreal and Outaouais), as well as select exposure to Vancouver, targeting Class B and C assets that serve broad demographics through local operational teams focused on occupancy growth, customer satisfaction and accretive enhancements. In May 2025, InterRent entered into a definitive arrangement agreement to be acquired by CLV Group in partnership with GIC in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $4 billion including net debt assumption, offering unitholders $13.55 per unit representing premiums of 29% to the 90-day volume-weighted average price and 35% to the unaffected closing price, subject to a 40-day go-shop period, minority unitholder approval and regulatory clearances while maintaining monthly distributions through closing.
