Business
Jacobs Solutions Inc. (NYSE: J) is a global provider of technical, professional and construction services, as well as scientific and specialty consulting to industrial, commercial and government clients worldwide. The company offers end-to-end solutions including consulting, technical services, planning, architecture, engineering, infrastructure delivery, project and program management, construction services, operations and maintenance; it focuses on key markets such as advanced manufacturing, cities and places, energy, environmental services, national security and defense, life sciences, transportation and water. Founded in 1947 by Dr. Joseph J. Jacobs in Pasadena, California, Jacobs Solutions Inc. is headquartered at 1999 Bryan Street, Suite 1200, Dallas, Texas, and operates in more than 40 countries with approximately 45,000 employees. The company maintains a streamlined portfolio emphasizing high-growth sectors like climate response, data solutions, decarbonization and digital technologies integrated across its offerings. In recent developments, Jacobs completed the spin-off of its Critical Mission Solutions and Cyber and Intelligence Government Services businesses in 2024, which merged with Amentum to form a new publicly traded entity, allowing Jacobs to sharpen its focus on core markets. The company secured new term loans totaling $200 million and £410 million in March 2025 to refinance existing debt and support general corporate purposes, while reducing debt by approximately $312 million through an equity-for-debt exchange with Amentum. Additional strategic wins include selection by PsiQuantum for master planning and design services on a quantum computing project in Brisbane, Australia; a $13.4 million contract with Hampton Roads Sanitation District for operational technology cybersecurity; support for Boise Airport's capital expansion; and a joint venture to design the Mukaab, one of the world's largest built structures in Riyadh's New Murabba development. Jacobs also entered a strategic partnership with PA Consulting to provide infrastructure advisory services to UK public sector organizations and reported strong fiscal 2025 results with record backlog and margin expansion. Reports in October 2025 indicated interest from WSP in a potential multibillion-dollar acquisition, though no transaction has been confirmed.
