James Hardie Industries plc (NYSE: JHX; ASX: JHX) manufactures and sells fiber cement siding, backerboard, trim, and related building products for residential and commercial construction; offers fiber gypsum products; and provides composite and PVC decking, railing, and outdoor living solutions through brands including Hardie, TimberTech, AZEK Exteriors, Versatex, fermacell, and StruXure. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with management based in Chicago, Illinois, the company operates 19 manufacturing facilities and three R&D centers across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia-Pacific, and the Philippines, employing over 5,000 people worldwide; founded in 1888 in Melbourne, Australia, it pioneered fiber cement technology in the 1980s following a shift from asbestos products. In March 2025, James Hardie announced its acquisition of The AZEK Company Inc. for $8.75 billion including debt, completed on July 1, 2025, at an implied value of $8.4 billion, integrating complementary outdoor living products and exceeding fiscal 2026 cost synergy targets ahead of schedule; in May 2025, the company syndicated $3.5 billion in new senior secured credit facilities, including a $1 billion revolver and term loans, to finance the AZEK transaction and support ongoing operations and growth.
