Business
KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. (KLC) provides early childhood education and care services to children from six weeks to 12 years old across the United States. The company operates community-based early childhood education centers under the KinderCare Learning Centers brand; premium early child care and education schools under the Crème de la Crème (formerly Crème School) brand; and before- and after-school programs under the Champions brand at over 1,000 sites, primarily in elementary schools. It also offers employer-sponsored solutions including on-site and near-site centers, backup care, and customized family benefits through KinderCare Learning Companies for Employers. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, KinderCare serves approximately 200,000 children through more than 1,500 centers in 39 states and the District of Columbia, with revenue primarily from tuition and government subsidies for food costs, teacher compensation, and supplies. In recent years, the company acquired Crème de la Crème in 2022, expanding its premium offerings across 14 states; changed its name from KC Holdco, LLC in January 2022; went public via an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in October 2024; and completed eight acquisitions of 16 early childhood centers in 2024 while expanding Champions programs to 16 National Heritage Academies charter schools in Colorado, Michigan, and Ohio for the 2024-2025 school year.
