The company operates through three principal business divisions: Plant, Civil & Building, and Development. Through its Civil & Building division, the company constructs and develops residential apartments, mixed-use commercial and residential complexes, and officetels under its proprietary brand THE LIV; commercial office towers and knowledge industry centers; smart logistics centers and cold-storage warehouses; and public civil infrastructure, including roadways, bridges, and industrial site development. The Development division oversees turnkey real estate development, architectural engineering, urban regeneration, and comprehensive construction management services.
Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, SGC E&C operates as a core construction and engineering affiliate of SGC Group, under parent company SGC Energy Co., Ltd. The company serves corporate, industrial, public sector, and institutional clients across domestic and international markets, maintaining overseas subsidiaries and project execution offices including SGC Arabia Co., Ltd. in Saudi Arabia, SGC E&C Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vietnam, and Wuhan eTEC E&C Co., Ltd. in China.
In recent corporate developments, the company officially changed its name from SGC eTEC E&C Co., Ltd. to SGC E&C Co., Ltd. in March 2024 to strengthen its global brand identity and accelerate international market expansion. SGC E&C has substantially expanded its footprint in the Middle East through multi-hundred-million-dollar EPC contract awards in Saudi Arabia via its subsidiary SGC Arabia, including a USD 500 million contract for an ethylene cracker expansion project in Jubail, a USD 191 million EPC contract to build an isopropanol (IPA) manufacturing plant for Advanced Petrochemical Company, and over USD 360 million in plant expansion contracts with Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) for ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and propane dehydrogenation/polypropylene (PDH/PP) facilities. Strategically, the company has also expanded into green technology and decarbonization markets, securing engineering contracts for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects, eco-friendly plant conversions, and high-efficiency renewable energy infrastructure.
