Biosmart Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based diversified technology and manufacturing company primarily engaged in the development, production, and distribution of smart cards, in vitro diagnostic healthcare solutions, cosmetics, and electronic metering systems. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates through four principal business divisions: Smart Cards, Healthcare and Biotechnology, Cosmetics, and Energy Measurement. In its Smart Card division, the company manufactures and supplies financial IC cards, credit, debit, and prepaid payment cards, and telecommunications USIM cards; national electronic identification (e-ID) cards, electronic passport covers, and secure access cards; proprietary smart card operating systems (COS); and specialized card personalization, encoding, and data issuance systems. In its Healthcare and Biotechnology division, Biosmart provides in vitro diagnostic (IVD) reagents, rapid test kits for infectious diseases, molecular diagnostic assays, blood glucose monitoring devices, and clinical diagnostic analyzers. In its Cosmetics division, operated through specialized subsidiaries including HanSaeng Cosmetics and Lamy Cosmetics, the company produces functional skincare products, premium herbal cosmetics, anti-aging treatments, and color cosmetic lines. In its Energy Measurement division, operated in conjunction with its affiliate Omni System, it supplies digital electricity meters, smart gas meters, ultrasonic heat and water meters, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) software solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial utilities. Biosmart serves financial institutions, telecommunications carriers, government agencies, medical facilities, retail consumers, and utility providers across South Korea, while exporting products to international markets across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. In recent developments, Biosmart has expanded its core smart card portfolio with the launch of next-generation eco-friendly recycled polymer and premium metal payment cards to address institutional ESG requirements; broadened its biotechnology segment through strategic R&D collaborations and regulatory approvals for rapid multiplex diagnostic kits; expanded international e-commerce distribution for its derma-cosmetic product lines; and implemented operational streamlining across key operating units and subsidiaries, including Omni System and publishing affiliate Sigongsa, to foster cross-segment synergies between digital security hardware, automated smart utility infrastructure, and healthcare technologies.
