Business
Gyeongnam Steel Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based steel service center primarily engaged in the precision processing, cutting, slitting, and distribution of flat-rolled steel products. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Changwon, South Korea, the company operates as an authorized processing partner for POSCO, sourcing high-grade master steel coils to deliver tailored sheet and strip solutions to manufacturing and construction sectors. The company's core product and service offerings comprise cold-rolled steel products, including cold-rolled coils and sheets (CR), pickled and oiled sheets (PO), hot-dip galvanized steel sheets (GI), galvannealed steel sheets (GA), and electro-galvanized steel sheets (EGI); hot-rolled steel products, including hot-rolled coils, hot-rolled sheets (HR), hot-rolled galvanized steel (HGI), and hot-rolled galvannealed steel (HGA); high-performance and specialty coated steel products, including PosMAC (POSCO Magnesium Aluminium Alloy Coated Steel) high-corrosion-resistant sheets, automotive-grade Giga Steel ultra-high-strength steel, color-coated sheets, galvalume steel, and stainless steel (STS); precision steel processing services, including high-speed longitudinal slitting, transverse cut-to-length shearing, mini-shearing, automated leveling, and custom blanking; and auxiliary operations, including industrial warehouse storage, logistics handling, and commercial real estate leasing. Gyeongnam Steel caters to industrial clients across South Korea, targeting the automotive components, home appliances, construction materials, electrical machinery, and renewable energy infrastructure markets, such as solar tracker and mounting structures. The company operates core manufacturing and service centers across Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do, including its central Changwon Ungnam facility and its Gwangyang Plant 1 and Plant 2 complexes, strategically positioned near POSCO's major steel mills. In recent operational developments, Gyeongnam Steel has expanded its processing capabilities for high-value-added steel products, deploying specialized processing equipment at its Gwangyang facility to handle ultra-high-tensile automotive Giga Steel and scaling supply of eco-friendly PosMAC materials for solar and architectural applications. The company has also entered into a strategic supply chain finance and industrial development agreement with BNK Kyongnam Bank to establish anchor-firm financial support mechanisms for supply chain partners, accelerate smart factory automation across its cutting and slitting lines, and support green supply chain standards. Additionally, the company has advanced corporate value enhancement initiatives, maintaining a conservative capital structure with low debt ratios and committing to stable shareholder return policies.
