Business
Orient Precision Industries, Inc. is a South Korea-based automotive component manufacturer primarily engaged in the development, fabrication, and distribution of high-precision parts for automotive powertrains, transmissions, and chassis systems. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, the company operates specialized manufacturing facilities across South Korea and maintains international operations, including production subsidiaries in Vietnam. The company provides an extensive portfolio of precision automotive components, categorized into: transmission components, including manual transmission shift shafts, dual-clutch transmission (DCT) shift fork assemblies, control shaft assemblies, carrier assemblies, and differential cases; engine and powertrain parts, including camshaft brackets, engine mounting brackets, timing chain covers, and oil pump housings; chassis, brake, and steering systems, comprising brake pedal assemblies, parking brake mechanisms, steering knuckles, and suspension control arms; and advanced metal manufacturing services, encompassing high-pressure aluminum die-casting, precision stamping, computer numerical control (CNC) machining, automated assembly, and specialized surface and heat treatments. Orient Precision Industries supplies its component portfolio primarily to domestic and global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 automotive suppliers, including Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation, and Hyundai Transys. In recent developments, Orient Precision Industries has accelerated its strategic transition toward next-generation mobility by expanding its product pipeline into electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) platforms. The company has introduced specialized components for electric drive reduction gears, e-axle modules, and lightweight thermal management housing assemblies. Operationally, the company has enhanced its smart factory infrastructure through the integration of automated robotic machining and inspection lines across its primary manufacturing plants, while scaling production output at its Vietnamese subsidiary to optimize cost efficiencies and strengthen its global supply chain resilience. Additionally, Orient Precision Industries continues to deepen technical collaboration with major automotive system integrators to secure multi-year supply agreements for modular assemblies designed for eco-friendly vehicle architectures.
