Business
DAE HWA PHARM Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based pharmaceutical company primarily engaged in the research, development, manufacture, and distribution of prescription pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and advanced transdermal drug delivery formulations. Founded in 1984, incorporated in 1989, and headquartered in Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea, with executive offices in Seoul and R&D operations in Pangyo, the company operates specialized manufacturing facilities that produce finished-dosage therapeutics across multiple drug delivery platforms, notably its proprietary lipid-based self-emulsifying drug delivery system (DH-LASED) and transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS). The company organizes its business into distinct commercial segments comprising ethical pharmaceuticals (ETC), consumer healthcare products, transdermal delivery products, API synthesis, and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) services. Its core product and service portfolio includes oncology therapeutics, centered on Liporaxel (oral paclitaxel solution, DHP107) for gastric and breast cancers; respiratory and mucolytic agents, including Amistein; gastrointestinal, digestive, and antacid formulations, including Magmil; cardiovascular, anti-inflammatory, and central nervous system medications; transdermal patches, plasters, and cataplasms, including the Rivamensa Patch and analgesic pain relief patches; orally disintegrating films (ODF); synthetic active pharmaceutical ingredients; peptide-based chemical entities and hyaluronic acid materials produced through its subsidiaries, such as C-Tri Pharmaceutical Co., Redox Bio Co., and DH Horim Co.; and third-party contract manufacturing solutions for global pharmaceutical clients. DAE HWA PHARM serves domestic and international healthcare institutions, hospitals, clinics, and wholesale distributors, exporting formulations across Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa. In recent major strategic developments, the company secured National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approval in China for Liporaxel for the treatment of advanced, metastatic, or recurrent gastric cancer, followed by its official inclusion in China's National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) effective January 2026. To support its international commercialization, the company entered strategic licensing and distribution alliances with partners including Haihe Biopharma, 3SBio, and PharmaEngine for commercial expansion across mainland China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, while advancing regulatory submissions for expanded therapeutic indications including first-line breast cancer.
