- Mercury Corporation is a South Korea-based telecommunications equipment and optical communication technology company specializing in the design, development, and manufacture of fixed and wireless network devices, optical fiber solutions, and smart convergence systems. Founded in 1983 as the Information and Communication Division of Daewoo Telecom and headquartered in Incheon, South Korea, the company operates as a core telecommunication hardware subsidiary of Eyesvision Corp. Mercury Corporation structures its commercial operations across three principal business divisions: Terminal Equipment, Optical Communications, and Convergence Systems. The Terminal Equipment division develops and manufactures customer-premises equipment, including Wi-Fi wireless access points supporting Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 standards; Optical Network Terminals and optical modems for gigabit and 10-gigabit fiber-to-the-home deployments; voice over IP residential gateways; and smart Internet of Things connectivity hubs. The Optical Communications division produces single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers; loose tube and ribbon optical fiber cables for indoor, outdoor, aerial, and underground installations; and specialized optical transmission cables serving telecommunications operators, enterprise data networks, and high-speed artificial intelligence data center interconnects. The Convergence Systems division provides Time-Division Exchange Access Gateways for legacy-to-IP switching network migration; military and defense-grade satellite communication terminals and tactical transmission systems; smart home control modules supporting the Matter interoperability protocol; and electric mobility infrastructure, including electric two-wheeler battery swapping stations. The company primarily supplies tier-1 telecommunications carriers, including KT Corporation, SK Broadband, and LG Uplus, as well as enterprise, educational, and defense clients, while exporting optical products and networking equipment internationally across Asia, North America, and Europe. In recent developments, Mercury Corporation has advanced its commercial portfolio through the launch of carrier-grade 10G Wi-Fi 7 access points integrated with Plume OS platforms and expanded its connected-device ecosystem by achieving Matter standard certifications for its smart gateway and IoT module lineups. Additionally, the company secured major commercial supply contracts with domestic operators, including an 18.4 billion KRW agreement with KT to supply next-generation Wi-Fi access points, while expanding high-density optical fiber production to capture surging infrastructure demand from global AI data centers.
