- Soosan Industries Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based engineering and industrial services company primarily engaged in providing comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and instrumentation services for electric power generation facilities. Founded in 1983 as Seokwon Industry Co., Ltd. and headquartered in Cheonan-si, South Korea, the company operates as a core affiliate of the Soosan Group and is listed on the Korea Exchange under the ticker KRX:126720. Soosan Industries delivers lifecycle engineering and maintenance solutions across multiple energy segments, including nuclear power, coal and combined-cycle thermal power, and renewable energy facilities such as biomass, fuel cell, and pumped-storage hydroelectric plants. Its core service offerings include routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance for nuclear reactor coolant systems, turbine generators, utility boilers, and auxiliary mechanical and electrical equipment; planned outage and scheduled overhaul services; power plant commissioning and performance diagnostic testing; non-destructive examination (NDE) and structural integrity testing; and instrumentation and control (I&C) installation and maintenance. Through its wholly owned subsidiary Soosan ENS Co., Ltd., the company develops and supplies safety-critical plant control technologies, including POSAFE-Q, a proprietary safety-grade programmable logic controller (PLC) certified for APR1400 nuclear power reactors; Man-Machine Interface Systems (MMIS); reactor protection systems; and digital distributed control systems. The company primarily serves public utilities and power generation enterprises, maintaining long-term service relationships with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and Korea's five state-owned thermal power generation corporations. Geographically, Soosan Industries maintains an extensive operational network across major domestic utility hubs in South Korea, alongside international operations that include turbine maintenance, commissioning, and non-destructive testing services for Units 1 through 4 of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates, as well as technical support agreements across Southeast Asia. In recent operational developments, Soosan Industries secured a KRW 93.6 billion maintenance contract package from KHNP in July 2025 covering mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance for Saeul Units 1 and 2, Shin-Wolseong Units 1 and 2, and Saeul Units 3 and 4. In 2024, the company and its subsidiary Soosan ENS expanded their nuclear backlog through a KRW 27.8 billion equipment quality inspection contract for Shin-Hanul Units 3 and 4 and a KRW 17.4 billion routine I&C maintenance contract for Shin-Hanul Unit 1. Strategically, Soosan Industries has advanced into next-generation nuclear technology as a key executing institution in South Korea's national innovative small modular reactor (i-SMR) development project, developing field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based safety control and protection instrumentation targeted for standard design approval by 2028. Additionally, the company has integrated its MMIS and safety PLC supply capabilities into South Korea's national nuclear export consortium to support international reactor construction projects, including the Dukovany nuclear power project in the Czech Republic.
