Business
PEMTRON Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets precision optical measurement and automated inspection equipment based on 3D measurement, machine vision, and artificial intelligence technologies for the electronics, semiconductor, and secondary battery industries. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates across several primary business segments, including Surface Mount Technology inspection, advanced semiconductor packaging inspection, and clean-tech manufacturing quality control. The company's core product portfolio includes 3D Solder Paste Inspection systems under the SATURN series, designed to measure height, volume, area, and coplanarity of solder deposits on printed circuit boards; 3D Automated Optical Inspection systems under the ATHENA, EAGLE, and MERCURY series, which detect placement, polarity, solder fillet, and component defects across top and bottom board surfaces; Conformal Coating Inspection systems, such as the TROI 8800CI series, utilizing ultraviolet lighting and deep learning algorithms to identify coating thickness, bubbles, cracks, and voids; 2D and 3D X-ray inspection equipment under the JUPITER series for non-destructive inner-structure verification; advanced semiconductor inspection solutions, including the APOLLON series for Ball Grid Array, Land Grid Array, and Quad Flat No-Lead package inspection, the MARS series for automated high-speed visual inspection and optical sorting of memory modules, and the 8800WIR series for wafer-level infrared and High Bandwidth Memory stacking defect inspection; automated lead tab inspection systems for secondary battery pouch cells; and smart factory process optimization software, including the SMARTRON suite and closed-loop process control systems that integrate real-time statistical process control, AI auto-teaching, and optical character recognition with manufacturing execution systems. PEMTRON Corporation serves global integrated device manufacturers, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers, automotive electronics suppliers, battery cell manufacturers, and electronics manufacturing service providers across South Korea, North America, Europe, China, and Southeast Asia. Its international operations are supported through overseas subsidiaries and branch entities, including PEMTRON Technology, Corp. in the United States, PEMTRON Technology Mexico, S de RL de CV in Mexico, PEMTRON Europe GmbH in Germany, PEMTRON Vina Co., Ltd. in Vietnam, PEMTRON Technologies Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen and Suzhou, China, and PEMTRON Technologies Asia Pte Limited in Hong Kong. In recent developments, PEMTRON Corporation has accelerated its strategic expansion from conventional surface mount inspection into advanced semiconductor packaging and artificial intelligence memory hardware manufacturing. The company commercialized its proprietary 8800WIR inspection system, securing a multi-billion won supply contract with tier-1 semiconductor manufacturer SK Hynix for High Bandwidth Memory wafer-level stacking and Through-Silicon Via defect detection. Furthermore, PEMTRON expanded commercial deliveries of its MARS high-speed memory module inspection equipment and APOLLON packaging inspection platforms to global memory and logic packaging clients, while advancing production deployments of its automated inspection systems for electric vehicle battery cells.
