Business
IL SEUNG Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in marine environmental systems, LNG equipment, pipe spool fabrication, and industrial power plant facilities. Founded in 1988 and incorporated in December 1999, the company is headquartered in Busan, South Korea, and operates as a core subsidiary of Sejin Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The company operates across four primary business divisions: Environmental Equipment, Marine LNG Systems, Pipe Spool, and Materials. Its Environmental Equipment division manufactures marine pollution-control solutions compliant with International Maritime Organization regulations, including biological and membrane-type sewage treatment plants such as the ISB and M-BIO series; vacuum-evaporating freshwater generators available in tubular and plate configurations; centrifugal and filtration-based oil purifiers for marine diesel and lubricating oils; exhaust gas cleaning scrubbers for sulfur oxide abatement; selective catalytic reduction systems for nitrogen oxide reduction; and galley grease traps. Its Marine LNG Systems division provides core cryogenic and gas-handling infrastructure for eco-friendly vessels, including LNG re-gasification units, vaporizers, and fuel gas supply system modules. The Pipe Spool division, representing the company's largest revenue stream, manufactures prefabricated marine piping spools utilized throughout ship engine rooms, ballast systems, and cargo handling networks. Its Materials and Industrial division supplies functional surface protection films, Teflon tapes, and polypropylene compounds, alongside power plant equipment including heat recovery steam generators, industrial boilers, and industrial de-NOx and de-SOx systems. IL SEUNG primarily serves global and domestic shipbuilders, commercial fleet operators, offshore engineering contractors, and thermal power plant operators across South Korea, broader Asia, and international maritime corridors. Major end customers include prominent South Korean shipyards such as HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, and Samsung Heavy Industries. In recent operational and strategic developments, IL SEUNG executed a strategic realignment within its corporate group by transferring its Noksan plant sewage treatment plant business unit to its affiliated subsidiary, Dongbang Ship Machinery Co., Ltd., in an asset transaction valued at approximately KRW 12 billion. This restructuring aims to streamline manufacturing workflows, optimize specialized production capacities across group facilities, and improve operational margins. Concurrently, the company has expanded its pipe spool fabrication throughput and advanced its product roadmap for next-generation eco-friendly propulsion equipment, addressing heightened global demand for LNG-, methanol-, and ammonia-fueled commercial vessels amid the broader shipbuilding industry upcycle.
