Business
Boubyan Petrochemical Co. (K.S.C.) is a Kuwait-based investment holding company engaged in manufacturing, chemical processing, and diversified equity investments across the petrochemical, industrial, educational, and healthcare sectors. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Kuwait City, Kuwait, the company was established as the first private-sector enterprise to participate directly in Kuwait's petrochemical industry. The company operates through three primary business segments: Energy, Manufacturing, and Petrochemicals; Services and Education; and Diversified Investments. Boubyan Petrochemical Co. provides a systematic portfolio of industrial materials, consumer goods, and institutional services, including: basic petrochemicals and commodity derivatives, such as ethylene, ethylene glycol, high-density polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, styrene monomer, paraxylene, benzene, and heavy aromatics produced through its foundational strategic equity holding in Equate Petrochemical Company; chlor-alkali and specialty industrial chemicals, including liquid chlorine, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, compressed hydrogen gas, and industrial-grade and refined salt manufactured via its subsidiary Al Kout Industrial Projects Co.; plastic piping systems and civil infrastructure products, comprising high-density polyethylene pipes, unplasticized polyvinyl chloride pipes, double-wall corrugated pipes, specialized fittings, and custom industrial packaging solutions manufactured by its wholly owned subsidiary Muna Noor Manufacturing and Trading LLC; waterproofing and protective construction materials, such as polymer-modified bituminous membranes, liquid waterproofing coatings, thermal insulation products, and road asphalt additives through its equity interest in Arabian Waterproofing Industries Co.; private higher education and academic services, including undergraduate and postgraduate degree instruction, vocational training, and academic administration through its subsidiary Eyas for Higher and Technical Education, which owns and operates the Gulf University for Science and Technology; and comprehensive medical services, specialized clinical operations, and health facility administration through its portfolio investments in Nafais Holding Company. The company conducts primary operations, production, and distribution across the Middle East, with major operational centers in Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and Saudi Arabia, alongside international commercial distribution channels reaching Asia, Europe, and the Americas. In recent operational and corporate developments, Boubyan Petrochemical Co. has enhanced its balance sheet liquidity by securing a KD 25 million revolving banking credit facility with an international banking partner to fund working capital and strategic investment initiatives, implemented corporate capital expansion measures including the issuance of bonus shares, engaged in regulated treasury share repurchases under Capital Markets Authority oversight, appointed a Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer to steer inorganic expansion and portfolio diversification, and accelerated capacity investments across its education and chlor-alkali manufacturing subsidiaries to increase non-dividend operational cash flow.
