Loews Corporation (NYSE: L) operates as a diversified holding company with primary businesses in commercial property and casualty insurance through its approximately 92% owned subsidiary CNA Financial Corporation; transportation and storage of natural gas, natural gas liquids, olefins and other hydrocarbons via wholly owned Boardwalk Pipelines; operation of luxury and upscale hotels under wholly owned Loews Hotels & Co across North America; and rigid plastic packaging solutions including extrusion blow-molded and injection molded containers, commodity and differentiated plastic resins through its approximately 53% equity interest in Altium Packaging. CNA Financial provides specialty insurance products such as management and professional liability, surety and fidelity bonds, commercial property and casualty coverage; Boardwalk Pipelines owns and operates extensive interstate natural gas pipeline systems, storage facilities and gathering infrastructure primarily in the U.S. Gulf Coast and Midwest regions; Loews Hotels manages a portfolio of owned and operated properties emphasizing premium hospitality services for business and leisure travelers; Altium Packaging serves consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and industrial customers with sustainable packaging formats. The company maintains headquarters in New York City and traces its origins to Loews Theatres acquired in 1959 with formal incorporation in 1969. Loews Corporation repurchases significant shares of its common stock supporting capital management with 7.7 million shares bought for $611 million in 2024 and an additional 1.9 million for $164 million in early 2025 alongside 5.1 million shares for $429 million through May 2025; Boardwalk Pipelines plans $1.6 billion in growth projects through 2029; Loews Hotels pursues hospitality sector expansion; CNA Financial strengthens commercial insurance positioning; the company adopted ASU 2023-08 for crypto assets in January 2025 recording a $5 million retained earnings increase and closed a credit default swap index position in Q2 2025 generating $19 million net investment income through Q3 2025.
