Business
LandBridge Company LLC (NYSE:LB) owns and actively manages expansive surface acreage and subsurface resources primarily in the Delaware Basin of the Permian region across Texas and New Mexico to support oil and natural gas development, industrial uses, and emerging energy projects such as solar power generation, data centers, power storage facilities, and non-hazardous oilfield waste disposal; core revenue streams derive from surface leases and use rights for energy infrastructure and drilling pads, sales of brackish groundwater and surface composite materials including sand and caliche, a diversified portfolio of oil and gas royalties from approximately 220,000 net royalty acres overlying Tier 1 acreage, and related resource monetization. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company was formed in 2021 as a subsidiary of LandBridge Holdings LLC and operates approximately 300,000 surface acres in total following strategic acquisitions, serving upstream energy producers, midstream operators, renewables developers, and industrial clients throughout the United States with a focus on the prolific Permian Basin. Recent developments include the June 2024 initial public offering of Class A shares raising gross proceeds of about $172 million, a November 2024 agreement to acquire approximately 46,000 contiguous surface acres known as Wolf Bone Ranch in the Southern Delaware Basin from a Vitol subsidiary for $245 million funded in part by a concurrent $250 million private placement of Class A shares led by Goldman Sachs and Barclays, an October 2025 announcement of intent to acquire an additional 37,500 acres in the Delaware Basin, revisions to its foundational operating agreement to adjust internal financial structure, and the appointment of Andrea Nicolás to its board of directors.
