Business
LendingClub Corporation (NYSE: LC) operates as a digital marketplace bank holding company that connects borrowers and investors through a technology-driven platform offering personal loans up to $60,000, auto refinance loans, patient finance loans, home improvement financing, unsecured business loans, checking accounts including rewards-earning LevelUp Checking, high-yield savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and related deposit and lending services; the company primarily serves individual consumers and small to middle-market businesses seeking to refinance debt, consolidate payments, or manage cash flow in the United States with operations centered in San Francisco, California headquarters, Lehi, Utah banking main office, and additional locations in Boston, Massachusetts and New York. Founded in 2006 by Renaud Laplanche and Soulaiman Htite, LendingClub transformed from a peer-to-peer lending pioneer to a full-service bank following its 2021 acquisition of Radius Bank, enabling expanded depository services and nationwide SBA lending. In November 2025, the company announced entry into the $500 billion home improvement financing market through a distribution partnership with Wisetack leveraging its 40,000 contractor network and embedded SaaS relationships for participation certificate purchases starting early 2026 followed by proprietary underwriting for larger loans mid-year, alongside acquisition of core lending technology and talent from Mosaic to support contractor-based lending; additionally, LendingClub's board approved a $100 million common stock repurchase program through December 2026, while third-quarter 2025 results showed 37% origination growth to $2.6 billion and 32% net revenue increase to $266.2 million.
