Business
Esrey Resources Ltd. engages in the recovery of zinc, lead and other metal by-products from primary electric arc furnace dust and secondary waste materials including surface tailings from mines and furnaces; the company develops and operates a hydrometallurgical process demonstrated through its operational pilot plant capable of processing approximately 100 tons of feed per annum to produce London Metal Exchange special high grade zinc cathode and by-products suitable for sale or environmentally responsible disposal; it targets a zero-waste solution for hazardous metallurgical wastes while complying with the Basel Convention and EU environmental regulations. Founded in 2000 and headquartered at 1075 West Georgia Street, Suite 1010, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6E 3C9, Esrey focuses operations primarily on waste materials from the Balkan region supplemented by global electric arc furnace dust sources containing over 1 million tonnes of zinc annually. Formerly known as Esrey Energy Ltd., the company changed its name in October 2017 to reflect its strategic shift from energy exploration to metals recovery; it continues to refine its proprietary hydrometallurgical technology with assistance from international laboratories and plans construction of a commercial-scale facility to process up to 60,000 tonnes per annum of waste material.
