Business
L'Oréal S.A. is a global beauty company that develops, manufactures and markets skincare, makeup, haircare, hair color, fragrance and dermatological beauty products through its Professional Products, Consumer Products, L’Oréal Luxe and Dermatological Beauty divisions. Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Clichy, France, the company operates across Europe, North America, North Asia, South Asia Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, serving consumers, salons, dermatologists, retailers and professional beauty channels worldwide. In its portfolio, L'Oréal sells a wide range of brands and services spanning premium and mass-market beauty, salon-exclusive professional products, luxury fragrances and skincare, and clinically oriented dermatological offerings. Recent strategic activity has centered on portfolio expansion and luxury-beauty alliances. In 2025 and 2026, L'Oréal announced and completed a long-term partnership with Kering covering the acquisition of Kering Beauté, including the House of Creed, plus 50-year exclusive beauty and fragrance licenses for Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga and Gucci, alongside an exclusive venture to explore wellness and longevity opportunities. The company also acquired a majority stake in Innovist, a digital-first personal care house of brands in India, and increased its ownership in Galderma to 20% after acquiring an additional 10% stake, strengthening its position in aesthetics and dermatological beauty. L'Oréal has also expanded its brand and distribution footprint through acquisitions and integration of fast-growing brands such as Medik8 and Color Wow, reinforcing its luxury skincare and professional haircare offerings.
