Business
Aeffe S.p.A. is an Italian luxury fashion group founded in 1988 and headquartered in San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy. It designs, produces, and distributes fashion and luxury goods globally, operating mainly in two segments: Prêt-à-Porter and Footwear and Leather Goods. The Prêt-à-Porter segment includes luxury ready-to-wear garments, lingerie, swimwear, underwear, beachwear, and loungewear collections for men and women under proprietary brands such as Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Moschino, Boutique Moschino, and Love Moschino. This segment also manages licensing agreements for Moschino-branded perfumes and sunglasses. The Footwear and Leather Goods segment focuses on the design, production, and distribution of footwear, small leather goods, bags, and accessories mainly under the Pollini brand. The company sells through wholesale and retail channels across Italy, Europe, America, and other regions. Recent major changes include the sale of the Moschino cosmetics and perfume portfolio in September 2024, which generated a significant capital gain. In the same year, Alberta Ferretti stepped down as the creative director of her namesake brand, replaced by Lorenzo Serafini, who consolidated the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini brand into Alberta Ferretti, streamlining the brand portfolio. Aeffe expanded its strategic partnership with Monnalisa, signing a multi-year licensing agreement for the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini kidswear line effective from Spring/Summer 2025. Additionally, Aeffe renewed its global licensing agreement with Safilo Group for Moschino and Love Moschino eyewear. Despite facing challenges with a decline in sales and profitability in 2024, the company is working on restructuring and brand repositioning to capitalize on its luxury market potential. Aeffe is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange under ticker AEF.MI and operates internationally with a focus on premium markets for luxury fashion products. The company has been active in acquisitions and licensing collaborations and continues to invest in maintaining high-quality, exclusive products aligned with its Italian craftsmanship heritage. Its recent strategic moves reflect a response to evolving consumer preferences and market conditions in the luxury sector.
