Business
Robit Oyj designs, manufactures and markets drilling consumables for mining, quarrying, underground construction, geotechnical and well drilling applications worldwide; its core product portfolio encompasses three main categories including Top Hammer drilling tools featuring high alloy Scandinavian steel button bits, shanks adapters and couplings for hydraulic rock drilling; Down the Hole (DTH) consumables such as hammers, bits and tubing optimized for ground drilling; and Geotechnical products comprising forepoling and reverse circulation casing systems. The company maintains manufacturing facilities in Finland, South Korea and the UK, alongside sales and service points in seven countries and a distributor network spanning more than 100 countries, with key markets across the Americas, EMEA (including Southern Africa), Asia and Australasia. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Lempäälä, Finland, Robit lists its shares on Nasdaq Helsinki and targets mining firms, construction contractors, quarrying operations and exploration drillers seeking durable, high-performance tools. In June 2025, the company secured a new five-year EUR 25.5 million financing agreement with Danske Bank to refinance existing debt, support growth investments and working capital; it simultaneously launched a global change program to streamline operations, including workforce reductions of up to 45 positions aimed at cutting annual personnel costs by EUR 2 million with EUR 0.8 million in anticipated 2025 savings. Recent strategic moves feature strengthened sales organizations in South Africa and product enhancements like the durable Robit Mbit series and Marathon H-series hammers, alongside penetration into Asia, Africa and North America via new contracts ramping up in late 2025.
