- Elica S.p.A. designs, manufactures, and markets kitchen extraction systems, domestic cooking appliances, and electric motors for household appliances and heating systems worldwide. Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Fabriano, Italy, the company operates through two primary business divisions: Cooking and Motors.
The Cooking division offers a broad range of residential kitchen products and air management solutions, including wall-mounted, island, ceiling-mounted, built-in, and telescopic cooker hoods; integrated extractor induction hobs under the NikolaTesla brand; the Lhov all-in-one combined hob, extractor hood, and oven system; built-in electric ovens; induction, radiant, and gas cooktops; wine storage coolers; air purification systems; and localized kitchen appliances such as range cookers, refrigerators, and dishwashers. These products are distributed globally under proprietary brand names, including Elica, Airforce, Arietta, and Ariafina, catering to residential consumers, kitchen furniture manufacturers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The Motors division, operating primarily under the EMC FIME brand, develops and produces electric motors, centrifugal blowers, cross-flow fans, and electronic drive systems for domestic boilers, heat pumps, ventilation units, and white goods. The group maintains manufacturing and assembly plants in Italy, Poland, Mexico, India, and China, serving customers in more than 100 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.
In recent developments, Elica has undertaken a comprehensive strategic repositioning to transform from a specialized cooker hood manufacturer into an integrated cooking appliance company. The group unveiled a major global rebranding centered on the positioning Extraordinary Cooking, introducing an updated corporate visual identity and commercially launching its flagship Lhov integrated appliance system. To strengthen its direct commercial presence in international markets, Elica acquired Dutch extraction systems distributor aXiair in December 2024 to create a direct subsidiary in the Netherlands, following its 2023 North American consolidation through Elica North America Inc. and the full acquisition of Canadian distribution arm AG International Inc. The company has also streamlined its corporate structure under an accelerated smart organizational model, appointing Luca Barboni as Chief Executive Officer in 2026 to lead the group's international growth and product portfolio expansion.
