Business
M3 Metals Corp. is a Canada-based mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, and development of lithium properties in North America. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in West Vancouver, British Columbia, the company holds interests in high-grade lithium clay projects, including an option to acquire up to 80% interest in the Lakshmi-Daggett Ridge project in San Bernardino County, California, comprising sedimentary-hosted lithium mineralization prospective for a large near-surface resource; and the Texas Spring project in Elko County, Nevada, consisting of 253 mining claims contiguous to Surge Battery Metals' Nevada North discovery, featuring analogous geology to the Thacker Pass deposit. These projects target lithium-bearing clay horizons amenable to low-cost, open-pit mining, with operations leveraging proximal infrastructure such as highways, rail, and energy corridors in Nevada and California. In July 2023, M3 Metals entered into a mineral property option and joint venture agreement with Surge Battery Metals Inc., granting Surge the option to earn up to an 80% interest in the Texas Spring claims through cash payments, share issuances, and exploration expenditures. Subsequently, in August 2024, M3 Metals agreed to sell its remaining 50% interest in Texas Spring to Surge, with the transaction closing thereafter via issuance of Surge shares to M3 Metals; the company also announced management changes in December 2024 to support ongoing strategic initiatives.
