The company operates under the Atos and Eviden brands, serving industries including aerospace, automotive, banking, defense, energy, financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, media, public sector, retail, telecommunications, transport, and sports, with a presence in over 60 countries worldwide. Founded in 1997 through the merger of French IT firms Axime and Sligos, Atos SE has its headquarters in Bezons, near Paris, France.
Atos SE offers specialized infrastructure and data management encompassing datacenter operations, service desk, unified communications, hybrid cloud platforms, intelligent networks, modern mainframes, and managed edge services; business applications and platform solutions through consulting, systems integration, and enterprise platforms; big data and cybersecurity including high-performance computing, advanced servers, security products, and AI-driven threat detection; as well as decarbonization services, mission-critical systems, generative AI, and transformation acceleration. Its Eviden division focuses on high-end digital, AI, cybersecurity, and advanced computing products, powering supercomputers like JUPITER and BullSequana XH3500 for exascale performance and supporting mission-critical applications in defense, space, and research. Additional offerings include agentic AI solutions like Autonomous Data & AI Engineer on Microsoft Azure via the Polaris AI Platform, Atos AMOS-AI with Red Hat OpenShift AI, and Virtual SOC Analyst powered by Qevlar AI for cybersecurity enhancement.
In recent developments, Atos SE completed a major financial restructuring in late 2024, reducing gross debt by €2.1 billion, securing €1.6 billion in new liquidity, and converting €2.8 billion of debt to equity to stabilize its capital structure amid prior challenges. In June 2025, the company received a confirmatory €410 million offer from the French State to acquire its Advanced Computing business (excluding Vision AI, which was reorganized under Eviden), generating circa €0.8 billion in 2025 revenue, enabling focus on higher-margin AI, cybersecurity, cloud, and digital services. Earlier in May 2025, Atos launched its four-year "Genesis" strategic plan emphasizing cost reductions, governance simplification, market withdrawals, asset sales, workforce adjustments, €500 million in R&D investment, €100 million in startups, and a new data/AI division targeting €10 billion annual revenue and 10% profit margins.
The company announced strategic partnerships in late 2025, including with CONMEBOL as Official Innovation Partner for club competitions; Eviden with HMD Secure for mission-critical features in the Terra M rugged phone; Eviden and AMD for Europe's first France-based exascale supercomputer; and selection by the European Cybersecurity Competence Center for critical systems testing. Eviden also secured contracts for the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection's Polyalert system, NATO's Spanish Air and Space Force communications modernization, SKAO data infrastructure for radio telescopes, and Madrid City Council's AI platform evolution. Other highlights include launching the updated GEMMA platform for next-generation 112 emergency response, inaugurating a new Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Management Operations Center in Seville, and winning awards like Utility Week Awards 2025 and EcoVadis Platinum for sustainability.
