New England Realty Associates Limited Partnership (NEN) is a Massachusetts-based real estate limited partnership engaged in the acquisition, development, holding for investment, operation, and sale of residential and commercial properties primarily in the New England region. Founded in 1977 and headquartered at 39 Brighton Avenue in Allston, Massachusetts, the Partnership owns and operates through 31 subsidiary partnerships approximately 2,943 residential apartment units across 27 residential and mixed-use complexes, 19 condominium units leased to residential tenants, and roughly 131,000 square feet of commercial space including shopping centers in Framingham, office buildings in Newton and Brookline, and mixed-use retail and office spaces in Boston, Brockton, and Newton; it also holds 40-50% equity interests in seven unconsolidated joint ventures encompassing 688 additional residential units, one commercial unit, and a 50-car parking lot in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, with properties managed by The Hamilton Company, Inc. and general partner duties performed by NewReal, Inc. Recent developments include the June 18, 2025 completion of a transformative $175 million acquisition of Hill Estates, a 396-unit mixed-use property with commercial spaces in Belmont, Massachusetts, funded partly through a new KeyBank master credit facility and interim loan agreements; an August 2024 refinancing of the Hamilton On Main Apartments mortgage at 5.425%; ongoing construction of a 72-unit apartment complex at Mill Street in Woburn, Massachusetts, with $15.2 million invested to date toward a $30 million total and completion targeted for late 2025; a November 2024 $25 million revolving line of credit at SOFR plus 2.5%; March 2025 authorization of a $5 million equity repurchase program at up to $95 per depository receipt; and 2025 capital improvement plans totaling $30.8 million across properties, including $14.8 million for the Mill Street project.
