Business
Conifex Timber Inc. is an integrated Canadian forest products firm engaged in various aspects of the timber industry and renewable energy generation. The company manages timber harvesting, reforestation efforts, and sustainable forest practices within British Columbia. From these operations, it produces high-quality softwood lumber, including dimension lumber and studs from spruce, pine, and fir logs, for distribution across North America and Asia, primarily serving markets in the United States, Canada, and Japan. Beyond lumber, Conifex also processes residual wood materials, such as wood chips and bark, into valuable by-products. An integral part of its operations is the 36-megawatt biomass power generation facility in Mackenzie, B.C., which converts these sawmill residuals into clean, renewable electricity for commercial sale to BC Hydro. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Conifex Timber Inc. was established in 2007, initially under the name West Fourth Capital Inc., before adopting its current identity in June 2010. The company recently reported third-quarter 2025 financial results, showing sales of CAD 38.16 million and a net loss of CAD 16.61 million for the period ending September 30, 2025. In September 2025, PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. increased Conifex's existing credit facility by $4.0 million, bringing the total available amount to approximately $35 million.
