Business
Exchange Income Corporation is a diversified acquisition-oriented company focused on the aerospace, aviation services, and manufacturing sectors. It operates primarily through two segments: Aerospace & Aviation and Manufacturing. The Aerospace & Aviation segment comprises three business lines: Essential Air Services, providing fixed-wing and rotary-wing medevac, passenger, charter, and freight services mainly to northern and remote communities in Canada; Aerospace, delivering mission systems design, aircraft modifications, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, software development, and training services to government clients globally; and Aircraft Sales & Leasing, offering regional and commuter aircraft sales, engine and parts sales, plus aircraft and engine leasing and management. The Manufacturing segment includes Environmental Access Solutions, the largest Canadian provider of temporary ground protection matting solutions for construction and industrial sites; Multi-Storey Window Solutions; and Precision Manufacturing & Engineering, which supplies precision parts and components across varied industries, including wireless infrastructure, hydronic climate control, stainless steel tanks, and specialized cleaning systems. The company serves markets across Canada, the United States, Europe, and other regions. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Exchange Income Corporation pursues growth via acquisitions and organic investment in profitable, well-established niche market companies. Recent major developments include the 2025 acquisition of Bradley Air Services Limited, operating as Canadian North, for approximately CAD 205 million, expanding EIC's passenger and cargo jet service presence in Canada’s northern regions, including the Northwest Territories. In 2021, it completed the acquisition of Carson Air Ltd., the largest fixed-wing air ambulance provider in British Columbia, bolstering the Essential Air Services business line. In December 2025, the company completed the redemption of its 7-year 5.25% convertible unsecured subordinated debentures due 2029, reflecting active capital management initiatives. Additionally, PAL Aerospace, a subsidiary, expanded its geographic reach and won a surveillance contract with the Netherlands government, exemplifying the company's increasing global government services footprint. These strategic acquisitions and contract wins underscore Exchange Income Corporation’s focus on expanding and integrating its aerospace, aviation, and manufacturing operations to provide specialized and essential services primarily in niche government and remote community markets.
