Kraken Robotics Inc. is a Canada-based marine technology company that designs, manufactures and sells advanced subsea sensors, batteries and robotic systems for military and commercial applications. The company offers synthetic aperture sonar systems including Kraken SAS for simultaneous imaging and bathymetric mapping, KATFISH towed high-speed SAS towfish operating at up to 10 knots for increased area coverage, MINSAS miniature interferometric SAS, Sub-Bottom Imager for 3D subsea stratigraphy data, Acoustic Corer for 3D acoustic cores up to 50m depths with 14m diameter, SeaVision LiDAR scanners for millimeter-resolution metrologies on underwater assets, SeaPower pressure-tolerant batteries and battery management systems with market-leading energy density, and underwater robotic platforms such as launch and recovery systems. Kraken Robotics provides related subsea services encompassing high-resolution geophysical and sonar surveys, LiDAR inspections and robotics-as-a-service deployments. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, the company maintains manufacturing and operations across Canada, the United States including new facilities in Texas and Colorado, United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Brazil and other locations serving clients in over 30 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. In recent developments, Kraken Robotics acquired 3D at Depth in early 2025 to expand subsea optical LiDAR capabilities, enhance deepwater services and establish a stronger US presence with high-margin operations; the company also completed a C$115 million bought deal public offering in August 2025 to fund accretive acquisitions, bolster its balance sheet for larger contracts and support global growth as a prime contractor.
