Business
India Motor Parts & Accessories Limited (IMPAL), incorporated in July 1954 and headquartered in Chennai, India, engages in the distribution of automobile spare parts and accessories across India as part of the TVS Group. The company represents over 28 manufacturers of OEM-quality products, including those from TVS Group, Rane Group, and Anand Group, serving more than 35,000 dealers through a network of over 85 branches staffed by 850 employees; its core offerings encompass engine group components, brake systems, steering linkages, powertrain components, fasteners, radiators, suspensions, axles, auto electricals, wheels, wheel rims, instrument clusters, oil seals, and gaskets. IMPAL operates exclusively in the Indian independent automotive aftermarket, catering to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial vehicles with a focus on branded, high-quality parts from suppliers such as Brakes India, Rane (Madras), Sundram Fasteners, and ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India. In recent developments, the company opened four new branches and introduced a new product line in 2025 to drive future sales growth, while completing the acquisition of additional equity shares in its subsidiary CAPL Motor Parts Private Limited in 2022 and securing SEBI approval in 2023 for the amalgamation of CAPL into IMPAL; it also sold a portion of its stake in associate Transenergy Private Limited in fiscal 2023, resulting in CAPL ceasing to be an associate. IMPAL maintains a subsidiary relationship with CAPL Motor Parts Private Limited, which contributes to the group's distribution capabilities in targeted regions.
