Business
Monarca Minerals Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of silver, gold, and base metal projects in Mexico. The company holds 100% interest in its flagship Tejamen silver property, comprising 23 mineral concessions covering 1,685 hectares northwest of Durango, Mexico; the San Jose gold and silver project in northern Mexico; and the San Lucas property, targeting silver, gold, copper, zinc, and lead deposits along Mexico's productive mineralized belt. Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, and founded in 1995 as Oremex Silver Inc., the company changed its name to Monarca Minerals Inc. in August 2016. In recent developments, Monarca completed Phase 1 exploration drilling at the San Jose project, reporting preliminary results including 4.07 g/t gold over 3.0 meters; obtained environmental permits and advanced surface rights discussions at Tejamen; closed the sale of its El Sol project to Southern Silver Exploration Corp.; and completed private placements to fund evaluation of Tejamen and other activities. The company operates primarily in the precious and base metals exploration segment, serving institutional and retail investors through its TSX Venture Exchange listing (MMN) and OTC quotation (ORAGF).
