Business
Phoenix Motor Inc. is a zero-emission commercial electric vehicle manufacturer and powertrain integration company that designs, develops, manufactures, and integrates commercial electric vehicles, heavy-duty transit buses, electric vehicle drivetrains, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The company operates across distinct commercial electrification segments serving municipal transit authorities, corporate fleets, school districts, airport transportation operators, utility providers, and logistics companies primarily throughout the United States. Its core product and service portfolio comprises Class 4 through Class 6 medium-duty commercial all-electric vehicles, including electric shuttle buses, flatbed trucks, utility service trucks, cargo delivery vans, and zero-emission school buses; heavy-duty zero-emission transit buses, featuring 35-foot and 40-foot low-floor battery-electric bus models designed for public transit fleets; proprietary electric propulsion systems and drivetrain conversion kits, including high-voltage battery storage packs, electric motor drive assemblies, vehicle control units, power electronics, and custom telematics software; and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, encompassing commercial Level 2 alternating current chargers, high-powered direct current fast charging systems, depot energy management software, and turnkey charging installation and fleet maintenance services. In recent strategic developments, Phoenix Motor Inc. significantly expanded its operational scope and market presence through the acquisition of the heavy-duty transit bus business and associated manufacturing assets of Proterra Operating Company, Inc. out of bankruptcy, establishing Class 8 transit bus manufacturing operations in Greenville, South Carolina. Additionally, the company transitioned its public market listing to the OTC Markets under the ticker symbol PEVM, entered into expanded supply chain agreements for advanced battery systems, and secured multiple municipal transit and airport shuttle fleet delivery contracts to advance commercial fleet zero-emission conversions. Phoenix Motor Inc. was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Anaheim, California.
