Business
Triton Minerals Limited (ASX: TON) is an Australia-based mineral exploration and development company focused on graphite, gold, and copper projects in Mozambique. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Perth, the company explores and develops high-grade mineral assets, including its flagship Ancuabe Graphite Project in the Cabo Delgado region, which features a 46 million tonne resource at 6.6% total graphitic carbon, producing predominantly large flake (59% >180µm) and jumbo flake (32% >300µm) graphite concentrates suited for expandable, battery anode, and refractory markets; the Cobra Plains Graphite Project, for which it secured a 25-year mining concession; and the Aucu Gold-Copper Project in the Tete region, spanning 588 km² with artisanal mining evidence and rock chip samples up to 17.4 g/t gold and 4.9% copper. Triton targets premium, high-purity graphite for electric vehicle batteries and flame-retardant applications, alongside base and precious metals for renewable energy and electronics sectors, operating exclusively in Mozambique's resource-rich northern and central provinces with access to established infrastructure including roads, power, and ports. In recent developments, the company sold a 70% interest in its Mozambique graphite assets to China's Shandong Yulong Gold for A$17 million in cash, with the deal receiving Australian Foreign Investment Review Board approval in December 2024, execution of the share sale and purchase agreement, and receipt of payments including under a settlement in February 2025; entered a binding memorandum of understanding to acquire up to an 80% interest in the Aucu Gold-Copper Project in October 2024, followed by exploration license approvals in July 2025, initial site works in November 2025, and commencement of an initial drilling program in November 2025; secured Ancuabe Project environmental license approval in November 2024; and reinstated trading on the ASX multiple times amid these transactions while advancing field works approved in September 2025.
