Business
WA1 Resources Ltd (ASX:WA1) is a Western Australia-based minerals exploration and development company focused on critical minerals essential for low-carbon technologies, including niobium, rare earth elements, copper, gold, iron oxide and nickel; its flagship Luni Niobium Project in the West Arunta region features two mineralised carbonatites (P2 and Luni) with high-grade niobium deposits discovered in 2022, supported by an initial Mineral Resource Estimate released in July 2024 and an updated estimate in July 2025 containing a substantial Indicated component, marking it as one of the most significant niobium discoveries in over 70 years; additional projects include the prospective Madura Project for iron oxide copper-gold mineralisation near Madura in southeastern Western Australia and the Hidden Valley copper-gold project in the Northern Territory, alongside other targets across a large tenement portfolio in the Arunta region. The company, founded in 2021 and headquartered at Level 2, 437 Roberts Road, Subiaco, Western Australia, owns 100% of its primary exploration assets targeting tier-1 deposits in underexplored Australian regions. In August 2025, WA1 Resources completed a A$100 million institutional placement at A$17 per share, supported by new and existing investors from Australia and the Americas, boosting pro forma cash to approximately A$168 million to fund pre-development activities at Luni including mine design studies, process flowsheet optimisation, permitting, supporting infrastructure capital expenditure and further exploration; recent updates encompass October 2025 assay results from Luni, metallurgical results in August 2025, a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate update in June/July 2025, and a change of registered office in August 2025.
