- PCCW Limited is a Hong Kong-based global company that provides telecommunications services, media and entertainment, IT solutions, property development and investment, and other related businesses. Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, the company holds a majority stake in HKT Trust and HKT Limited, Hong Kong's leading telecommunications provider offering fixed-line telephony, local data and broadband, mobile communications, enterprise solutions, international telecommunications, network-based services, outsourcing, contact centers, and technical consulting and engineering; IT solutions including software development, systems integration, and informatization; media services through over-the-top video platforms like Viu, content production, artiste management, events, and free-to-air TV via HK Television Entertainment Company Limited; e-commerce, travel, insurance, big data analytics, fintech, and healthtech services integrated into a digital ecosystem; and global connectivity solutions via PCCW Global encompassing managed networks, on-demand services, security, and satellite offerings in over 50 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, mainland China, Singapore, and other parts of Asia. It also maintains stakes in Pacific Century Premium Developments Limited and various overseas investments, with shares listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK: 0008) and traded as American Depositary Receipts (PCCWY) on OTC Markets in the US. In June 2024, PCCW agreed to sell a 40% stake in its fibre business, Fiber Link Global, to China Merchants Group for US$870 million to unlock value, share capital expenditure for network expansion in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, and support new service offerings amid digital transformation and regional integration. Recent initiatives include partnerships with nine Asia-Pacific mobile operators for Golden Spectrum priority access in October 2025, free data for ViuTV's National Games broadcast via 1O1O and csl in November 2025, and Now TV integration of Disney+ content in September 2025, alongside prior deals such as the data centres sale to DigitalBridge and Canal+'s 26.1% stake in Viu following a US$200 million investment.
