Business
Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated functions as a leading energy provider, primarily serving the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States from its headquarters in Newark, New Jersey. The enterprise operates through its principal subsidiaries, notably Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and PSEG Power, along with PSEG Long Island. The PSE&G segment serves as a regulated utility, delivering electricity transmission, alongside the distribution of both electricity and natural gas to approximately 2.4 million electric customers and 1.9 million gas customers across New Jersey's urban, suburban, and rural communities. This segment also spearheads investments in solar generation initiatives, comprehensive energy efficiency programs, and offers appliance maintenance and repair services. PSEG Power, as an energy supply company, concentrates on generating wholesale power. Reflecting a significant strategic pivot, this segment has transitioned to a portfolio exclusively composed of carbon-free nuclear generation facilities located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, having completed the sale of its fossil fuel and solar generating assets by early 2022. PSEG also extends its operational reach through PSEG Long Island, managing the electric transmission and distribution system for about 1.1 million customers. Established in 1903, the company is deeply committed to a clean energy future, investing significantly in modernizing its infrastructure to enhance reliability, resilience, and support decarbonization efforts, with a regulated capital investment plan of $21 billion to $24 billion projected from 2025 through 2029. This includes ongoing projects to upgrade electric and gas systems, expand electric vehicle infrastructure, and advance energy efficiency programs across its service territories.
