Established in 1839 and headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, the Bank offers deposit products including savings accounts, checking accounts, interest-bearing checking accounts, money market deposit accounts, certificates of deposit, and IRA products; loan products encompassing commercial real estate loans secured by multi-family apartment buildings, retail and industrial properties, and office buildings, commercial business loans, fixed-rate and adjustable-rate residential mortgage loans collateralized by one- to four-family properties, commercial construction loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, personal loans, unsecured lines of credit, auto loans, and recreational vehicle loans; wealth management, trust, and fiduciary services through its wholly owned subsidiary Beacon Trust Company; and insurance services through its wholly owned subsidiary Provident Protection Plus, Inc., including property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and risk management solutions. The company maintains strong positions in commercial real estate lending, residential mortgage origination, asset-based lending, equipment lease financing, and treasury management services, with additional offerings in online and mobile banking, cash management, and small business administration loans. In May 2024, Provident Financial Services completed its merger with Lakeland Bancorp, Inc., creating a super community banking franchise with approximately $24.5 billion in assets, $18.8 billion in loans, $18.6 billion in deposits, and 140 branches across its operating footprint; the transaction enhanced scale, diversified revenue streams with added capabilities in asset-based lending, equipment financing, and mortgage warehouse lending, and resulted in board and executive leadership expansions including the appointment of Thomas J. Shara as Executive Vice Chairman. Prior to the merger close, the company successfully completed a $225 million public offering of 9.00% fixed-to-floating rate subordinated notes due 2034 in May 2024 to support regulatory requirements and general corporate purposes including debt repayment.
