Business
Pine Trail Real Estate Investment Trust is a Canada-based real estate investment trust that acquires, owns and leases medical office real estate assets, with operations centered on a medical office property in Picton, Ontario, through wholly owned subsidiaries. The Trust was formed on December 22, 2017, renamed from Pine Trail Capital Trust in 2018, and is headquartered at 161 Bay Street, 27th Floor, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Its core business is to identify and selectively acquire complementary commercial properties to build a portfolio intended to provide stable cash flow, reliable distributions and capital appreciation, with a focus on healthcare-related real estate and tenant services for medical practitioners and other commercial occupants. The Trust’s property platform includes its Picton Property, and recent operating activity shows continued leasing and portfolio management around that asset, including a three-year lease signed with a group of family physicians at 389 Main Street in November 2025. In March 2024, the Trust suspended its quarterly distribution to redirect cash flow toward strategic building improvements and tenant improvement allowances, following an earlier move from monthly to quarterly distributions announced in January 2024, reflecting a broader capital-allocation shift toward property enhancement and long-term asset value creation.
