Its operations are structured across several key divisions: PGIM, U.S. Businesses, International Businesses, Closed Block, and Corporate and Other segments. The PGIM segment, representing Prudential Global Investment Management, provides sophisticated investment management services and solutions worldwide. These encompass strategies in public fixed income, public equity, real estate debt and equity, private credit, other alternative investments, and diverse multi-asset class approaches. PGIM serves a global clientele of institutional and retail investors, alongside managing the company’s own general account. Notably, PGIM consolidated its fixed income and private credit operations in June 2025, establishing a combined credit platform managing nearly $1 trillion in assets. The U.S. Businesses division offers an extensive array of products and services designed to meet protection, retirement, savings, income, and investment needs. This segment is organized into several distinct areas: Retirement Strategies, Group Insurance, Individual Life, and Assurance IQ. * The Retirement Strategies segment, formed by aligning individual annuities and institutional retirement products in 2021, delivers retirement investment and income solutions to retirement plan sponsors across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. It also develops and distributes individual variable and fixed annuity products primarily for the U.S. mass affluent and affluent markets. This unit is also active in pension risk transfer (PRT) services. * The Group Insurance segment provides group life, long-term and short-term group disability coverage, and group corporate, bank, and trust-owned life insurance across the U.S. These offerings primarily support institutional clients for employee benefits and affinity groups. * The Individual Life segment focuses on the creation and distribution of individual variable life, term life, and universal life insurance products, primarily targeting the U.S. mass middle, mass affluent, and affluent demographics. * Assurance IQ leverages advanced data science and technology for the direct distribution of third-party products, along with its proprietary term life offering, to retail consumers through digital and agent channels. The International Businesses segment is engaged in developing and distributing life insurance, retirement products, investment solutions, and certain accident and health products. It focuses on mass affluent and affluent markets, with a strategic emphasis on Japan and other higher-growth emerging markets. Prudential divested its Korean life insurance operations in 2020. The Closed Block segment encompasses specific in-force participating insurance and annuity products and their corresponding assets, which are designated for the payment of benefits, expenses, and policyholder dividends related to these policies. The Corporate and Other Operations segment includes general corporate activities and initiatives not specifically allocated to the core business segments. Founded by John Fairfield Dryden in Newark, New Jersey, in 1875, Prudential Financial, Inc. has approximately $1.6 trillion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025, and continues to expand its advisory network.
