Business
Power Solutions International, Inc. (PSIX) designs, engineers, manufactures, markets, and sells a broad range of advanced, emission-certified engines, power systems, and accessories for industrial, power generation, transportation, and energy applications worldwide. The company offers fuel-agnostic engines and complete powertrain solutions compatible with natural gas, propane, gasoline, diesel, biofuels, and hybrid systems; these include engine blocks with integrated fuel systems, fully packaged power systems incorporating cooling, electronic, air intake, exhaust, hydraulic, and telematics components; custom-engineered electrical power generation systems for standby, prime, demand response, microgrid, data center, and combined heat and power uses; and specialized products such as mobile and stationary gensets, battery packs, forklifts, wood chippers, aerial lifts, irrigation pumps, oil and gas compression equipment, vocational trucks, school buses, transit buses, terminal tractors, and ground support equipment. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois, Power Solutions International operates manufacturing facilities across Illinois and Michigan, serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users primarily in the United States, North America, Europe, the Pacific Rim, and internationally, with key segments in power systems (including data centers and renewables), industrial off-road equipment, and on-road transportation. In recent developments, the company formed a strategic partnership with HD Hyundai Infracore in 2025 to expand its industrial engine portfolio in North America, acquiring rights to distribute Tier 4 Final and Euro Stage V diesel engines while offering integration, turn-key services, and gasification adaptations for multi-fuel compatibility including LPG, gasoline, and natural gas. Power Solutions International secured a $135 million revolving credit facility extension in October 2025, maturing in July 2027, which enhanced financial flexibility, reduced total debt, eliminated prior going concern issues, and supported ongoing growth initiatives. Additional milestones include a board realignment in October 2025 with new directors appointed by major shareholder Weichai America Corp., index inclusions in the Russell 2000 and MSCI US Small Cap driving significant stock appreciation, and projected 45% sales growth for full-year 2025 fueled by power systems demand and data center opportunities.
