Business
Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering Co. Limited is an engineering and technology company that manufactures, designs, and installs electrical and electronic capital goods and delivers industrial automation, digital enterprise solutions, and smart infrastructure across Pakistan and select international markets. Founded in 1953 and headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, the company operates as a subsidiary of Germany-based Siemens AG and is publicly traded on the Pakistan Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SIEM. The company operates primarily through two core business segments: Smart Infrastructure and Digital Industries. Its Smart Infrastructure portfolio encompasses the manufacturing, customization, and supply of medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) air-insulated and gas-insulated switchgear, including the NXAIR series; motor control centers, power distribution switchboards, and busbar trunking systems; smart grid automation, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and smart metering infrastructure; building management systems and energy efficiency software; and integrated fire safety, suppression, and electronic security solutions. Its Digital Industries portfolio provides factory and process automation technologies, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), distributed control systems (DCS), and variable frequency drives (VFDs); industrial communication and connectivity systems; motion control and instrumentation equipment; and product lifecycle management (PLM) and digital enterprise software. In addition, the company provides turnkey engineering, project management, and construction services; installation, testing, and commissioning; maintenance, retrofitting, and modernization; spare parts support; and technical engineering export services for power distribution and automation installations. Siemens Pakistan serves industrial, institutional, and commercial clients across utilities, cement, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, data centers, and municipal infrastructure from its primary manufacturing and engineering complex situated in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (S.I.T.E.) in Karachi alongside regional offices in Lahore and Islamabad. In recent strategic developments, the company completed the sale and transfer of its Energy Business Segment to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (Private) Limited on December 31, 2024, for approximately PKR 17.82 billion, aligning with the global separation of Siemens AG and Siemens Energy. Additionally, in September 2025, the company resolved to exit its motor repairs business as part of a strategic portfolio realignment to focus operational and capital resources on its core Smart Infrastructure and Digital Industries divisions.
