Its lead product candidate, QRX003, comprises a once-daily topical lotion with a broad-spectrum serine protease inhibitor formulated using proprietary Invisicare technology for Netherton Syndrome and SAM Syndrome, currently advancing in two active pivotal registrational clinical studies across the U.S., Europe and Middle East under an open U.S. Investigational New Drug application; QRX008 targets scleroderma; QRX009 addresses peeling skin syndrome and palmoplantar keratoderma; and additional programs including QRX004 for recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa and topical rapamycin formulations at 4% lotion and 5% dermal patch loadings for microcystic lymphatic malformations and venous malformations. In October 2025, Quoin closed a private placement financing of up to $104.5 million with healthcare-focused investors including AIGH Capital Management, Soleus Capital, Nantahala Capital, Diema Partners, Pine Capital and others, providing an initial $16.5 million upfront plus up to $88 million from warrant exercises to fund operations, research and development including QRX003 clinical completion, working capital and potential acquisitions through 2027; the European Medicines Agency granted Orphan Drug Designation for QRX003 in Netherton Syndrome, offering 10 years of market exclusivity upon approval; and in November 2025, the company achieved target rapamycin loadings with clinical batch manufacturing planned for Q4 2025 and trials starting in the first half of 2026, alongside appointing Sally Lawlor as CFO. Quoin launched the NETHERTON NOW campaign to raise awareness and support patients affected by Netherton Syndrome, holds a research agreement with Queensland University of Technology and a license agreement supporting its pipeline, and targets underserved patient populations with no current approved therapies through its innovative topical delivery platforms.
